Here`s some housekeeping to help protect us both.
Clearly being covid safe when we are working together is a responsibility for us both. With this in mind I have listed actions and procedures below that we both must adhere to:
I will contact you prior to the session starting to ensure you have no underlying symptoms and I will confirm my status. You must look out for:
A high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back. You do not need to measure your temperature; I will take your temperature using the latest non-contact device.
A new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual).
A loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal.
You will be required to supply and wear a face mask for your own use. Please ensure you wear the face mask before entering the vehicle and after you have exited the vehicle. I have both if you do not have time to buy your own before your first session which will be supplied free of charge. This should cover your mouth and nose while allowing you to breathe comfortably. It can now not be as simple as a scarf or bandana that ties behind the head due to current guidance about ffp2 masks. Please do not touch the front of the face-covering or the part of the face-covering that has been in contact with your mouth and nose. Once removed, make sure you clean any surfaces the face-covering has touched. Wash your hands or use hand sanitiser before putting it on and after taking it off. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth at all times, and store used (washable) face coverings in a plastic bag until you have an opportunity to wash them.
Regarding surfaces:
On entering the car and before you start your lesson, you will be asked to wipe over the following contact points personally: seat belt, buckle, door handles (inside and out), window controls, seat adjusters, steering wheel, steering wheel height adjuster, parking brake, gear lever, indicator, wiper stalks, light controls and not forgetting the plastic surround of the rear view mirror with alcohol-based gel at the beginning and end of each training session, I will supply the gel and the disposable cloths for your use.
We will be keeping window/s open for ventilation throughout the lesson so please remember to bring warm clothes to combat the draft!
You will be required to wash your hands thoroughly (up to elbows if wearing short sleeves) for at least 20-seconds before leaving the house and entering the car and you should wash your hands after your lesson.
All items, such as mobile phones and house keys will have to stay on you and not left on the dashboard or put into door pockets.
Any bags you bring, for an onward journey, must go in the boot.
Driving lessons can only be delivered in the driving school car (this may be the same for driving tests, but the DVSA has not confirmed this)
Test & Trace: The Candidate's participation in the NHS Test & Trace initiative is a requirement for taking a practical test. The examiner will ask the candidate; “Can you confirm that you are taking part in the Government test and trace or similar national initiative and that you are happy for your details to be passed to the relevant tracing authority if needed for Covid 19 tracing purposes.” Should the candidate not be taking part in the test and trace initiative the test cannot go ahead.
Cancellations:
If you or anyone you are living with has any Symptoms you MUST cancel your driving lesson before your lesson start time. Once cancelled you will not be able to restart your lessons until you have been tested negative or follow the Government isolation recommendations which are the same for me.
Understanding the number of changes and new measures, I would appreciate a return email confirming that you accept the above conditions before your session commences, please confirm below:
